Fees
All students must pay $8 per credit hour unless they are a high school student which qualifies for a fee waiver.
Students may qualify for a Fee Waiver if they meet any of the following requirements:
- Family receives public assistance
- Student is a ward of the state
- Student resides in foster home
- Student participates in free or reduced lunch program
- Student participates in a federally funded TRIO program such as Upward Bound
- Family income is at or below the Bureau of Labor Statistics Standard Budget
For enrollment in the Fall 2007 semester at NOC, atudents must pay the Cooperative Alliance fee by Friday, December 7, 2007. Students are not eligible for enrollment for the following semester until that fee is paid. Students should not let fees linger as NOC will turn them over to collections.
Holds
Students may experience Holds when checking their grades online for the following reasons:
- High School students will always be placed on a Registrar Hold. NOC does not want high school students to have access to online enrollment. All high school students will remain on hold after they graduate until they submit an official final high school transcript to NOC.
- Adult students will be on Registrar Hold until they submit an official high school transcript to NOC. Any students attending another college must also submit an official college transcript to NOC.
- High School students will be placed on a Financial Hold until they have paid their Cooperative Alliance fee or submitted the required information if they qualify for an Academic Fee Waiver (see requirements above).
- Adult students will be placed on a Financial Hold until they have paid their Cooperative Alliance fee.
Maximum Hours for Enrollment
High School students cannot exceed 19 hours of credit. This includes the courses they are taking at the high school as well as the tech center and any concurrent college courses!
Adult students cannot exceed 24 hours of credit. This includes any courses they are enrolled in during that semester at any college also.
Enrollment Process
Ms. Tera Davis from NOC will come to the NW Tech Campus to enroll students at the beginning of each semester. Instructors will advise students on which courses they should enroll in. Instructors will be conservative in suggesting courses so students will not have to drop courses at the end of semester.
Add/Drop Process
Students and/or instructors must complete the Add/Drop form in order to officially drop a student from or add a student to a course. The deadline for Add/Drop courses for the Fall 2007 semester is December 7.
Degree Transfer
The A.A.S. degree is more of a terminal degree. Each institution is different in how they will accept the A.A.S. degree. Some institutions may accept some courses as electives and some instutions may not accept any of the degree.
